Bring your character to life!
Cosplay, roleplay, and have fun
You can dress up and express yourself as your favourite character at the cosplay convention: This is the best place to connect with people of similar interests. On top of that, you can engage in fun and exciting roleplays and competitions and purchase unique merchandise at the artists’ alley on-site. Not only can you bring your character to life and meet new friends in the process, but you also take home some souvenirs to keep forever. Remember, you don’t have to impersonate a character to attend these conventions. If you want to fit in the crowd, prepare your costumes and props and show them off at this event!
Your character, your costumes, and your props
Thinking about attending cosplay conventions but on a tight budget? You don’t have to worry about that! You can purchase costumes and props online at a lower retail price. You can buy these preloved items from other convention goers or get them tailored for your fit where advertised. If creativity is in your blood, create the costume and props, most of which you can find at Walmart or the Dollar store. You can even reuse, reduce, and recycle things you can find at home. There is no limit to creativity! Create and show them off! No time to create? In case you didn’t know, you can also find costumes and props on-site at the artists’ alley. Everyone is welcome whether they’re dressed up or not. There you go, a few steps away from participating in your first convention.
One-stop shop at the Artists’ alley
Artists’ alley is your souvenir store! You can own collections of posters, pins, lanyards, figures, and many more. These merchandises are not only of your favorite virtual character but also of other characters that might interest you. You can commission many talented artists who create unique arts and crafts for your liking. If you want to be a part of the artist alley, you can also sign up to become a vendor and earn money. It is another fantastic way to save for your next visit. Still, if you want to get more involved in the cosplay convention, you can volunteer to get many freebies for your hard work.
Volunteer and make it special
One of the beautiful things about cosplay conventions is having a chance to get more involved in the background to make these events successful. Freely offering your time, energy, effort, and support makes the experience more fun! You can help the staff and meet and greet people you’ll never encounter when staying at a stall at the artists’ alley or wandering around as a guest. Imagine the possibilities! Soon after your years of volunteering, you might be able to land a job as an event staff member.
Fun Things to Do at Edmonton Cosplay Convention
The fun begins when the doors open. We have our ticketing booth if you want to pay for your tickets in person and enjoy the day pass or the complete 3-day pass. You can grab your maps at the welcome booth for free or explore the area at your own risk! Beware! It's going to be an exciting exploration!
No daycare? No problem! We've got you covered. We have on-site daycare with registered daycare workers, so you can drop off your kids and enjoy the cosplay event! Don't worry; our daycare workers have scheduled activities for the kiddos to enjoy. It's a win-win for both! Make sure to claim your kids before going home!
Are you wondering where to eat? Easy peasy! We have maid-café-themed coffee shops and Japanese street food carts on each convention center floor. Different stalls on different floors serve different food. Try them all out! If you have food allergies, please let the staff at the food cart know. Our culinary team is certified and complies with food safety standards. We don't want to spoil the fun, do we?
It's late afternoon, and you're still on-site. Try visiting our Afternoon Teatime event. Make sure to register a day before because the spots are limited! What's more, you get to dress up as an English aristocrat of the 1840s! We have costume rentals beside the maid-café location. You can ask the staff on that site for more details. Suppose you want to get your photographs taken and keep them as a souvenir. In that case, photographers are lurking around the Afternoon Teatime event salon. They're holding a polaroid camera! Yes, you can get your pictures right away! You can claim them at the receptionist for a fee.
Do you still have the energy to go on until the doors close? Come to the basement level! We have cosplay competitions, karaoke, dance, and movie night! We serve alcohol, make sure you have your IDs ready before purchasing a drink. We recommend drinking in moderation and taking a cab to go home if you consumed alcohol. You can also have your designated driver take you home on this occasion.
We have peace officers on site throughout the event. Let's make this a fun and safe environment to enjoy altogether!
